Charter House has officially come out to say it will not nominate Shatta Wale this year because the artiste has said he doesn’t want to be a part of the Ghana Music Awards. It is not the first time Charter House has blacklisted an artiste. Kuulpeeps brings to you Shatta Wale and three other artistes who have been blacklisted by Charter House.
Shatta Wale
The SM4lyf artiste has gone back and forth with Charter House over the years. At a point, he released various diss tracks at them and later apologized. Recently he posted a list of songs he performed in 2015 on Facebook and warned Charter House not to nominate any of his songs in the Ghana Music Awards.
George Quaye, who is the Public Relations Officer for Charter House Ghana has confirmed that he is out of the Ghana Music Awards until further notice.
Mzbel
in 2008, the 16years singer came out to forbid Charterhouse or the Ghana Music Awards Planning Committee to nominate any of her songs or to use her images or voice in any future awards. In 2011, there were attempts by her record label, Blossom Event Promotions to fix her relationship with Charter House but it proved futile.Charter House has since not nominated her in the Ghana Music Awards.
Kwaisey Pee
Highlife singer, Kwaisey Pee took a bold decision to say that the award he won for Best Male Vocal Performance at 2007 Ghana Music Awards was more of a gift for writing songs for Irene & Jane for their maiden album. This did not sit well with Charter House and he hasn’t been nominated ever since.
Blakk Rasta
After the 2012 Ghana Music Awards, Blakk Rasta registered his disagreement and pleaded with the organisers to separate the dancehall/reggae category into two different categories. He won the Reggae song of the year the next year and cautioned Charter House that if the award was meant to silence him, then they got it wrong. It did not sit well with Charter House and he has not been nominated again.
