All is set for the Back In The Day concert slated for December 19 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). Organizers of the show, Empire Entertainment in partnership with EIB Network have confirmed that MUSIGA Boss Obour and highlife legend Daasebre Dwamena would be joining Hiplife group Akatakyie alongside international artistes, Sisqo and the group Dru Hill.
Daasebre “Ahoofe” Dwamena
The ‘Koforidua Flowers’ singer has not been active on the music scene since his arrest in the UK in 2007. But we know, back in the day, his songs were masterpieces. To think of seeing the hitman perform kokooko, Ahoofe and Still I love you is a great feeling and expectations are high for the highlife legend. The nostalgia is at its peak and so we expect an all emotional and yet thrilling performance from him.
The konkontibaa hit maker who hasn’t been doing a lot of music since he took on the role of Musiga President will be taking us back in day with his songs from the early 2000s and, hopefully, down to his controversial killn’ the game song. It will be thrilling to see the rapper who has been battling with weight issues and making great attempts to get fit on stage performing.
You can’t go through back in the day rap music without mentioning the Asumaning brothers, Akatakyie. The duo has seen it all when it comes to Ghanaian music and we expect to hear Ghana mmaa, Agoo, Odo esikyire, Sinsima, Esi, Meyare, Masan aba, Oman baapa, Odo ye musu anaa, and Sie sie obaa no which featured Okyeame Kwame.
Sisqo & Dru Hill
Front man of Dru Hill, Sisqo has cemented his name in Ghana with his 1999 hit songs Unleash The Dragon which featured Beanie Segel and Thong Song. Singing along Na nanana nananana Y’all niggas gonna make me Unleash the dragon whiles the group go about their crazy dance moves will be thrilling. There is a lot more expectations for Sisqo than his band mates since he was more popular than the group but we hope they all blow us away.
We know the nostalgia is fast building up as the day gets closer, much is expected from the artistes of the night. Lets gear up for the 90s. We will be there to bring you the run down
