According to a news report by livefmghana.com, the founder of Venus Productions; one of Ghana’s biggest movie houses, Abdul Salam Mumuni, has lost his young son in a fatal drowning incident. The report indicates that the boy drowned in a swimming pool in their residence.

Abdul Salam Mumuni is a renowned Ghanaian filmmaker whose Venus Productions helped in reviving the Ghana movie industry with such movies as Divine Love, Beyonce and The Return of Beyonce. His was one of the first if not the first to take on the trend of Ghana-Nigeria movie collaborations.

Our sympathies are with him and his family as they prepare to bury his son today in line with Islamic traditions.
