The Oxford press in a blogpost announced the addition of new words to the dictionary. The words which made it into the informal language section of the dictionary includes a list of social media slangs that have gained popularity in recent times.
The world is fast changing and language is evolving to keep up. So it makes sense that a brand that is an authority on language would consider accepting non-conventional language.
I am not sure we can use these words in formal documents yet but we’ll keep our fingers crossed till we can use ‘brain fart’ in an exam.
