From Ghana To The Luxurious Runways In New York

Did you ever feel like New York Fashion Week (NYFW) lacked diversity among designers that showcased their garments? Usually when you hear NYFW, you think of TOM FORD, VERSACE, ETC right?

Well not any more!!  Fashion week just kicked off on the 6th September and our own Ghanaian designer Mimmy Yeboah was among other designers who showcased their designs on the first day of NYFW.

Great news right? Yeah we know!

With this being her first time to participate in NYFW, she pulled one brave move by being divergent.

We know Ghanaian women are strong and Mimmy channeled her ancestry to go against the theme of NYFW.

Yep, she ain’t joining the band wagon guys!

She set her own theme and Mimmy went for the Afrogyptasy theme, where she showcased magical movements of garments through her exclusive gown collection and menswear.  Here are some pieces showcased by Mimmy Yeboah during NYFW…

Mimmy kicked of her menswear line with a traditional 3 piece set (Agbada) embroided with kente cloth, perfect for a wedding guest.
