The Intelligent Campus Challenge, is a first event of its kind, hosted by GE Digital. Students from Ashesi and KNUST were to present the final project they have been working on in the last couple of months, using GE’s Industrial Internet Platform, PREDIX. The event was held on the 13th of September, 2017 at Norton Motulsky Hall on the Ashesi University College campus.
The event was attended by CEOs and Senior Leaders from GE, IBM, Oracle, Rancard, DreamOval, among others. Students and faculty from KNUST were also on campus to witness their students present their projects to the representatives from General Electric. Each University presented two teams. Each team was assessed on how they were able to come up with an application for automating and improving operations on campus, preferably water management.
The winners of the #PREDIX challenge was no other than a team from the host university, Ashesi University College.
A Team from the Kwame Nkrumah of Science and Technology (KNUST) won second place in the challenge.

The only two females from the winning team won a cash prize of $250 each and an internship with IBM. They are Kawusara Nurudeen Salley and Asantewaa Bremang, both of the class of 2019.
During the course of the event, students from both universities had the chance to interact and take photos with the Photo Kiosk from General Electric.
Ashesi Alums who are currently employed at General Electric were also present to show their support to the Ashesi Team and also to assist in the organisation of the event.
