Dear Legon Freshman, This is your Schedule For Orientation

If you’re a Freshman at Legon, then these dates should be very important to you.

We know the feeling of emptiness when you first come to university and you don’t understand the university culture.

There is a whole lot of new information you need in order to survive your first semester or year at the university

That is why the university holds orientation for all freshers.

The orientation will take place on Wednesday, August 30 to Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Great Hall, this is compulsory for all Level 100 students. The schedule for orientation is outlined below:

DAY 1:       Wednesday, August 30, 2017

9.00 – 9.15am: Welcome message from Vice Chancellor & Registrar / Overview of University of Ghana

9.20 – 9.50a.m
TOPIC *Your responsibility as a Junior Member in the University of Ghana*

9.55 – 11.00a.m

“Surviving the Challenges of University Life/Careers and Counseling”

11.05 – 11.40a.m
“Keeping Safe on Campus”

11.45 – 12.15p.m
Interaction with Office of Students with Special Needs

 

DAY 2: Thurday August 31, 2017

9.00 – 10.00a.m
Interaction with the University of Ghana Computing Systems and the Finance Directorate

10.05 – 11.05a.m
TOPIC➖Financial Aid in the University of Ghana: Interaction with Students Financial Aid Office/ Students Loan Trust Fund.

11.10 – 11.40a.m
Interaction with Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee

1.00 – 3.00pm

DAY 3: Friday September 1, 2017

Academic Quality Assurance in the University of Ghana

DAY 4: Thursday August 31, 2017

1.00 – 3.00pm

College of Humanities and College of Education/ City Campus

Venue: Great Hall

 

College of Health Sciences

Venue: R. S. Amegashie Auditorium (Business School)

 

College of Basic & Applied Sciences

Venue: G.C.B. Auditorium

 

There are plans to organize campus tours by bus, as part of the Orientation, in the afternoon of Wednesday 30th August and Friday September 1st. More information will be made available in due course.
