Kojo Antwi Says Daddy Lumba Is Not His Competition
After countless comparisons with other great Ghanaian artistes, Kojo Antwi has finally come out to comment on the issue.
Mr Music Man, as he is fondly called by most of his fans stated on Accra FM that never before has he felt threatened by another Ghanaian artistem because he has always been aiming for a spot among the greatest artistes in Africa.
He told Nana Romeo on the “Ayekoo Ayekoo” show that ” “You wanted to ask whether I’m in a competition with Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede or not. My target since the inception of my career has always been to be one of the topmost musicians in Africa; so Salif Keita, Youssou N’Dour and Angélique Kidjo are the ones I’ll compete with.
He continued saying “Even if I don’t get to that level, I want to be in the middle because that has always been my target.”
Adding that, “my policy in life is always to aim higher so even when you fall, you will not hit the floor but be in the middle. I have never made anyone in Ghana my target. I call any artiste I see in the crowd at my show to perform because I don’t feel that there is a competition.”
Sooooo….can we conclude then that Kojo Antwi does not consider Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede to be among the greats? If Youssou N’Dour and Angelique Kidjo are at the top, and he doesn’t want to fall on the floor (be compared with Daddy Lumba), but he wants to be in the middle, then….wooow
